Whether you’re working with a brand or on your own, there’s a commitment and dedication required to operate a business and to keep one running efficiently. Competing priorities or the inability to see clearly when it’s time to ask for help can cause anxiety to build and creatively to come to a complete stand still and even worse, force competent and capable business owners away from their purpose.

Keeping your head above water requires time to reset your priorities and an honest evaluation of what they are. When you’re constantly working in your business, there can be little time left to invest in learning and education, resetting your personal benchmark and doing to work to meet and (most importantly) exceed them. The value and importance of making time to create processes and implementing them is key as well.

It’s alchemy - asking for what you need when you need it and going after what you want - consistently, regardless and despite of the hurdles that come your way. If you’re reading this right now, there’s more to come and you know it. Stay the course and stay all in and remember in everything and all things that you do, you always have much more power than you think.

If you find yourself in a rut personally or professionally, here’s a few tips to keep going,

STOP DOING…

  1. stop doing… take a step back -

If you’re cloudy about what you’re working toward, pull yourself out of the process and take a breather. Sometimes burn out and exhaustion make it almost impossible to think clearly and see the big picture. It’s important to pull back so you can readjust your energy.

  2. CREATE CLEAR BOUNDARIES

A compliment to taking a step back is readjusting your flow so you’re not reengaging in the same routines and processes that will only lead you back down the same path. After taking a moment however brief it may be - be clear about what you want and don’t for your business, and routine. There are times where creating boundaries lightens your mental, physical and spiritual load and increases work ethic, productivity and sanity — producing the best outcome for everyone involved.

  3. REESTABLISH YOUR GOALS + DO THE WORK

After taking time to pull away from mental clutter, and reestablishing your commitment to leave old patterns behind, it’s time to reestablish your goals, make them clear and plain (write them down!) and do the work necessary to achieve it. Avoid long drawn out list when planning your next steps, please! But, if you must create a detailed master plan be intentional about your roadmap to the next milestone and celebrate each one you achieve. Every step is a wine, even and especially if it’s just checking these three things off your list.

With a workforce overwhelmed, it’s important no matter where you fall within your organization to keep YOUR momentum solid, you energy fluid and your ability to adapt ti your own needs sharp.
