Without further ado - 2022 Strategy in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1….
New Year Strategy | 2022 (And Beyond)
5. Review Marketing Touchpoints - The new year is always a great time to think about where you are and where you want to be, personally and professionally. In fact, at the end of every year we talk about what we’re releasing and adding to our lives. In your business life, this release and resolve should push you to make a list of where and how you promote your brand. What channels do you use, are you comfortable using and where do you need to challenge yourself to create more engagement and awareness for your brand. Yes, there are a million ways to market a business from social media, a brand website, email campaigns, direct mail or overall branding such as signage, or new marketing collateral. Just ask yourself: Where are my customers? Am I hanging out there too?
4. Reestablish Authentic + Genuine Content - Content is King. Queens and the help and in 2022 it deserves your respect, in every form and at every level. But, remember what your mama told you… just because everyone is doing it doesn’t mean…
In 2022 it’s becoming even more important to create genuine content and although trends can create visibility for any brand in so many ways when trying to do it all, it’s so much more important to take the time to think about the messages you want to send so when you create and join in on the creations of others (especially on social media or industry trends) it’s always in line with your brand…. and easier to do consistently and with ease.
Pro Tip: Think about aspects of your business that you have to do, how can you incorporate them into your content strategy?
3. Consider Intentional Partnerships - Brand partnerships aren’t new in 2022 but NOW is the time to think and plan out the strategic partnerships and collaborations that can bring more visibility to what you do and offer. Too many times we hit the ground running and accept or rush through concepts that would have been much more successful if we took the time to be intentional and plan the execution. If there is another likeminded brand, individual or company that could add value to your clients through partnership - what are you waiting for? It’s your duty as a business owner to advance your brand and doing that with the support of people who believe in your customer base as much as you do is a win-win for everyone involved.
Pro Tip: Think outside the box after you create it. Don’t just start with something that’s been done - start with an idea that you know would be a benefit. Start with a customer first mindset, then add your business sense.
2. Review Product Performance + Plan Product Development - Moving through this new year after suffering setbacks and potential losses over the last few years is going to require many business owners and entrepreneurs to cut the fat, dig down into what works and innovate new ideas for growth. This most definitely starts with spending time gathering data and past performance to create a starting point. If you haven’t already, review 2021 and know where you are. 2022 is sure to look bright for business owners who aren’t working overtime on products/services that don’t hit the way they’d wanted them to (and are ready to come out of denial) and those prepared to pivot (albeit slow and steady) to new ideas, products, concepts, experiences and programs.
1. Create A Conversation Blueprint - Everyone has something to say and as a brand and business you’ll need to consider ways to create conversation or join them. With people spending a little less, there is much more to be said about connection and how that influences what we need and want. Conversations that are relevant to your businesses goals, passion and purpose should happen as often as you see fit and should become a part of your content strategy, marketing touchpoint mix and connect in some way to your products. Conversation is # 1 in your strategy because it will also help your customer make sense of who you are and what you do - and if applicable find the genuine connection in your partnerships/collaborations.
SIDEBAR: Creating conversation is also a great way to bring potential collaborations to you. Express your businesses position on the topics that are important. 2022 is the year.
